I figured that this week called for something 'lighter'.
I get new submissions from cancer patients and survivors almost every day, and this one was so amusing that a comic idea jumped at me as soon as I read it. I love the way it was written...especially for that last line, "What a day!"
I worked while in treatment, and I can totally relate to "What a day!" Cancer treatment very often affects your physical performance, and our ability to work takes a dive. I really love the simplicity of this submission.
Here's the original text as it was sent to me:
I was a hotdog vender. I weigh 163lbs. 1 day at work the wind was whipping. As I fought 2 hold down my cart I looked ridiculous. I then went 2 put the umbrella away and a huge gust came. I looked like Mary Poppins! Customers ran 2 help me! What a day!
