I can't speak for all cancer patients/survivors, but I know I'm pretty proud of my scars. I made this comic for those like me who are proud of their marks too.
It's no joke going through cancer treatment. One day, you here "You have cancer" and in no time, you are probed, poked, stuck, examined, re-examined, filled with contrast, stuck in super uncomfortable machines, poisoned, burned, cut up, cut up again, poisoned again, stuck thousands of times, looked at all sick and out of shape and run down by dozens of eyeballs, put back in the machines, removing your clothes in front of strangers while they scribble on clipboards, tattooed or marked for radiation and surgery, and on and on and on.
In my case, I had my intestine pulled through my body so I could use an ostomy bag and then had it reversed and going to the bathroom still isn't the same and never will be.
So yeah, this makes me a badass. I'm proud of my story.
If you've gone through the cancer, I hope this comic helps you feel the same way.
