They Look Great!
I've been creating these story submissions, mostly in the order I receive them, and I think this is the 3rd story so far that involves breasts. I promise I'm just working on the stories that come my way (LOL!).
But as funny as this story is, I think it hits on a good point about both colon cancer and breast cancer. Breast cancer gets almost all the press when it comes to awareness. The story submitter for this cartoon, Rose, and I are both colon cancer survivors, who also coincidentally have modeled for the Colon Club Colonder (She's in 2014 as December). And one thing we all talk about during our photo shoot week is how difficult it can be to get attention on colon cancer. Boobs are tough to beat in terms of attention, and as you see in this story, a woman with cancer is automatically assumed to have it in the breasts.
But here is Rose's story as submitted, as well as her beautiful Colonder photo!!
I was working out and a trainer came up next to me and said, "I know your secret". I responded, "It's not a secret, but you know I have cancer?". Him - "Yep! you look great, what treatments have you had?" Me - "lots of chemo, lots of radiation, and a few surgeries." Him (looking at my chest, assuming breast cancer), "They (referring to my boobs), look great!". Me - "yeah, well - I had surgery on my colon and lungs, but thanks!"
